Although both procedures involve injections, anti-wrinkle injections are administered around the forehead and wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet) to stop muscle movement that results in wrinkles. Dermal fillers are injected directly into the facial wrinkles to restore a smoother appearance and replace volume loss to facial fat pads, ie – cheeks, lips, temples and under eyes.
Dermal filler treatments include facial rejuvenation, correction of fine lines and wrinkles, lip augmentation, sculpting and volume replacement. Common areas that can be treated with fillers include cheeks, jawline, chin and lips.
Fillers are a gel made from Hyaluronic Acid, a natural occurring substance in your eyes, joints and skin. The filler acts like a sponge and retains large quantities of water to keep your skin plumped and soft. These products are used to provide a beautiful softness, improve the elasticity and assist in skin hydration. Dermal fillers help to maintain youthful contours and volume in a subtle and non-surgical approach.
There are a variety of dermal fillers on the market today. These range from those lasting six-nine months, others up to a year, and some that last up to 2 years.
